CO-OWNER, ROASTER

Bill has been working in coffee since 1997, when he worked in production at Intelligentsia Coffee in Chicago, IL. He co-founded PennyCup in 2013 with Amber Arthur after meeting her through his wife, who worked at BattleCat Coffee Bar in West AVL. After many years of purchasing coffee for BattleCat from a regional roaster, they wanted to try their hand at roasting as well. Bill is an avid enjoyer of lattes, playing ice hockey, and spending time with his family.

Morgan has always had a love for coffee and talking to people. She has worked in the industry for 7+ years, ranging in jobs from barista to event coordination to sales and management. Early on she knew she wanted to make a career out of coffee after working at a roastery in Richmond, VA. After moving to Asheville and working at BattleCat Coffee Bar in 2022, Amber, the owner, thought she had potential to help grow the business’s wholesale clients and brought her over to PennyCup.
